Default RE: Differnce between primers of differnt brands.

Propmahn,
I have heard that the Federal primers will detonate when using the Lee Auto prime tool. They are softer than the CCI primers so it takes less firing pin force to detonate them. I've been told Fed primers are the best to use in semi-auto pistols.
If you want a good hand priming tool get the RCBS. I've been using one for about 2 years now with Federal primers with no problems. It also uses standard shell holders.
As for the cost of primers I also have noticed that CCI are cheaper also.
