I'll second what MLKeith says. The old CleanShot pellets had a horrible reputation for poor ignition and partial burns and I saw that myself when using them in my cap & ball revolver.............3 of six balls wouldn't hit a 3' X 3' target at 15 yards. So I doubt the new version "sticks" will fair a whole lot better.

I did use the loose Clean Shot for 2 years and got good results with it, but it's tendency to suck moisture out of the air finally removed it from my hunting box..................replaced by 777.
When using 209s, I do understand that many have had problems with the primers pushing the charge prior to full ignition, so finding and using the "coolest" brand of 209s would definitely be in your favor, especially if using 777.
