Default RE: when the cross hairs lift pull

rocking the sights on and then holding for the trigger break is a method many offhand shooters use if thats what your gpa is teaching you thats great, but "fly by shooting" isnt so swell. Trigger control is the whole key, if you can train yourself to make a smooth break on the trigger without rushing or speeding up your squeeze, then you are on the right track. Read "Successful Shooting" by Hannenkrat and Pullum, the NRA has it for about $10. David Tubb has a couple of good books on technique too. I see them advertised in gun magazines. If you can find a copy of Towndsend Whelen's book "The Hunting Rifle" there is a good chapter on marksmanship in it too. The fundamentals are not very complicated, and beyond that, your abilities will coincide with the amount of practice you do. Provided you dont develop any number of bad habits that plague all shooters. Its a fun game and one you never master.
