RE: 6th Caliber opinion: The Mighty H&H.
I don't know if sloping cases are "hot" to me, but I appreciate the classic appearance and why they built them that way. So they would feed well for dangerous game & other dicey situations. Cartridges that also come to mind are the 7 & 8mm mauser, with tapered cases. Handloaders reap the benefits.
After careful consideration, I won't pick up a 375 due to the condition of my shoulder. Lost a half inch of bone or so there due to the fun and frolics of the gulf war. So I am sticking with the 45 70 for the authoritative role. But having fired the 375 years past, I would recommend it to anyone who is not recoil limited.
