RE: 6th Caliber opinion: The Mighty H&H.
This one is about the biggest cartridge that anyone in North America would have use for. Some like even bigger rounds but the 375 H&H will handle anything in North America with ease. It fairly flat shooting and the recoil while not mild is handled pretty well my most shooters. Its down side as a world wide cartridge is that its not always legal in some countries with a ban on sub 40 caliber guns. I have no need of one but would like to add one to my barrery of firearms. I may pick up a barrel for the Encore as they make that in thier heavy barrel with a Muzzle break which would help off the bench. I have fired a 100 or so rounds off the bench with this caliber while chronographing loads for a friend who hunts Africa every other year. In the off years they hunt British Columbia. He and his wife both hunt. They have a Dakota 416 Rem Mag. A winchester Safari Model in 375 H&H and use a 270 for the plains game. If my health holds up I may go with them next year.
