First off you can't compete with the acorns that are falling like rain right now. The deer are eating them up. I wouldn't start baiting till late season when it's cold and there's snow on the ground, corn on top will bring them in.
Mossy is having luck because his bait pile is "established" meaning that the deer have been hitting it for a while, before the acorns started falling.
Mossy, you buy all that corn at Wal-Mart? Isnt there a feed store around you or something? Isn't Wal-Mart like $10 for a 50lb bag? I get mine at $7.50 for a 100 lb bag. Might want to do some shopping.
