Well, I can't say much for the deer being lost, but as for him shooting "your" buck I don't really know what else you expected. Did you expect him to just pass up on the shot? Maybe it was a shooter buck to him? Something he'd be proud to take home to the wife and kids? What's a shooter to you may be a monster to someone else. What is a shooter to someone else may be a dink to you.

Sounds kind of selfish to me.
