billy bear - this is probably obvious, but if youre having a barrel cut down I'm assuming that youre having choke tubes installed by a gunsmith? If not, you may have no choke left and that's not helpful when needing tight patterns while turkey hunting. (Depending on the make of gun, it can be cheaper to just buy an extra short barrel.)- - I have a Remington Super Mag with a 23" barrel and it's very handy moving around in the woods when turkey hunting. I have a scope on my gun, so sight distance isn't a factor. Ballistically, there is little difference in shotgun barrels of at least 21" in length. (Read that somewhere but can't remember where.)
