In my area the peak rut is around the 15th of nov.I like to hunt the pre-rut about 2wks. before this.That way the bucks are not chasing just one doe around who is already in heat.They will cover more area in the pre-rut looking for a doe.I will rattle and use deer calls to try and lure them in.
