the simmons on 3x will be fine....if taken deer running on 3x....thats no problem.....i cant use open sites unless i mill off the scope mount and then have sites put on....thats a waste.......i have a free scope and all i need is the rings and bases...i dont know that the base is grooved or not....it is cut at an anglethen goes flat under the edge.....theres 5 cut grooves going across the base and one through the center.....no holes though........the slug barrels in cabels say to use weaver style rings i just looked.......does that make sense?? what kind of rings are those? like the 22rings that have the bases and all attached as one piece??thats what i think but im not sure.....thanx guys......if not ill just take it to the gunshop and get hooked up...but if i dont have to go to the gunshop i dont want too.....thanx alot.....
