i have a mossberg 500 rifled slug barrel with the cantaliever(spelling) scope mount base thing........what do i need besides a scope to have a scope on that gun?? what kind of rings? do i need bases too? i never did understand the ring and base deal......rings attach to the bases that attach to the receiver .....but some 22s have groved recievers that take fancy rings.....and who knows about this barrel.....i need to find out......dad has an extra scope laying around....a simmons 3x9 i think he said hed give me for it.....and i want to use the gun for deer this year.........i been doing alot of driving with my buddys.....and sometimes we are close to houses and farms ect......a slug will stop alot quicker then a 3006 bullet.....i know its still going FAR but its better then a highpowerd rifle.....i dont take chancey shots or anything so dont give me heck or anything......and one county neighboring mine is shotgun only......so i can hunt there if i wish.....but it will be the ultimate deer drive gun if i can get a scope on it...just dont know what i need.....rings? but what kind.....do i need bases or do the rings go on my mount on my barrel? theres no holes or anything in the mount......dont know if there needs to be........thanx guys.....oh ya....i want to shoot sabots out of a fully rifled barrel right?? thanx
