Need help identifying this gun.....*Updated w/ pics*
Well I just picked up a .22 hornet that has been in my family for generations. I believe it is a Savage/Stevens. I don't know how old it is, but it is in great shape, and all I know is my father bought it from my great grandfather in 1969. It is a single shot rifle, with a break open action on it, NEF style. It has a lever on the top of the gun that you push to the right to break the action open, kind of like how most over/under shotguns are. It also have some engraving under the gun of a waterfowl scene. It isn't much, but this gun means the world to me knowing it has been in the family this long and it is in great shape for a rifle of this age. I plan on having a new stock made for this gun and to have it reblued as well to clean it up a bit. I also will be ordering a new scope tonight as well.
Any ideas on what model of gun this thing is? I will take pics tonight to post up. Any help is much appreciated.
