IBO rules. New shooter having problems.
I just recently took up archery a couple years ago. I purchased a traditional style recurve and injoy shooting it very much. When I went to a few local 3d shoots that shoot IBO rules I was not allowed to shoot in the "traditional" class because my bow was a recurve. Why dont they let wooden recurve bows that shoot off the shelf with wooden arrows into the traditional class? Instead I have to compete with guys using olympic looking bows with weights and balancers and $300 a dozen carbon arrows and Hi-tech arrow rests. I consider my self a fairly good shot for the type bow I use but my scores will never come close to what the guys using these hi-tech bows can achieve. All this because my limbs have a curl in them.
