Default RE: Deer farm?

ORIGINAL: Pro-Line

It must not be too difficult...Everybody and their brother is raising deer around me in Ohio right now. I have 2 good friends that have over 50 between them. They're relatively cheap now too...Not like it used to be. They just buy button bucks and pour the protein to them. Their deer usually get real nice racks.

One has a couple that are 3 1/2 years old and will easily go 140.
Yes, it would be pretty nice to have some deer. But right now my state has banned it, and the very few people that have farms here cannot move their deer out of the penned area. Not even to the vet. This is due to some "scare" about spreading CWD disease?

Oh, btw, this is very interesting, I was just talking to someone that has a deer farm close to where I live. She told me that you don't just "pour" protein to them. She said that too much protein will mess their digestive system up. She said that research has shown that 14-16% of protein in their diet is more than enough. She is feeding her bucks 20% right now and her bucks are very nice sized.
