Once while bowhunting I kept hearing a rumbling in the distance. It sounded like a train. By the time I realized it was a storm it was on top of me. I was in a climber and I started down the tree. I was taking the knobs off when lightning hit a 150 yards or so from me. Scared the mud out of me. I grabbed all my stuff and started running downhill. I ran all the way out with lightning hitting very close and trees blowing over. Very nasty! Almost got clipped by a few limbs and such coming down.
