Yes, there are differences between stabilizers. You can get them in varying lengths and weights. Some simply just add weight to the front of the bow while others might only help reduce vibration or noise. Some stabilizers do all of those things. They really are a matter of personal preference. Personally I've used a 4" Doinker, 7" Tranquilizer and a 6" Stealth. Of those three the Stealth felt the best to me. I've actually ordered an 8" version for a little more forward weight. Best advice is to head to a shop that will allow you to try out several models so you can see what's best.
