RE: IBO Worlds... some things to say
After attendending 5 years on the the Mountain I will keep my opinions to myself and pass any suggestions or criticism on directly to the BOD through Ken or the other people whoses job it is to pass on my thoughts and opinions.
Finding a new locations is not an easy job and I'm sure that when the time is right this will be done and the only help that the BOD will have will be these messages and many others from State Reps etc.
An effort is being made to resolve as many problems as possible I'm sure and when a new location is choosen for what ever reason the past six years at Snowshoe will have been a learning expierence for everyone involved.
One thing that I would like to see is some long range plans that include a permanent home for the IBO and even a permanent site for the worlds close by or on the same property. When this organization started I'm sure that they never thought that the game would become this big and I don't think that anyone knows how big it can be with proper planning and foresight. Helping to save bowhunting is very important and I'm sure that having a game that promotes hunting, friendship, good sportsmanship etc has generated much more positive feelings among archers in the past and will do the same in the future if the Average archer can afford it.
Let us start looking further than next year and try to build a dream that everyone can grab onto. I would be willing to pay double my dues each year with the right planning for a permanent type organization that will show me that money will benefit a archer organization more than any other commercial organization.
Many people read these threads that may be forming a first opinion so lets try to put our best foot forward.
