I'm interested in a new 30-.06 or .270 and was considering this gun. My two favorite rifles to hunt with are my model 94 in 32 spec and 336 in 35 rem. I need something I could take out west for mulies and antelope, up in the mountains for elk, or maybe even give the old guns a rest during deer season at home. I have considered a bolt action, and am not crazy about semi-autos or pumps.

How would this particular gun in either caliber stack up as far as hunting accuracy and efficient knock down power for the roles mentioned above?
