Did the projectile you were shooting provide a solid knock down? Is the accuracy with that projectile acceptable? If your answer is yes, then keep what your doing.

You can try a larger projectile if you like. Many people like to get as much weight into their projectiles as possible without suffering in accuracy.

If your allowed to shoot sabots where you hunt, just for kicks, try some 250 grain Shockwaves with 2 pellets or 130 grains worth of pellets if the power is really needed and see what you get for accuracy. I shoot a Black Diamond and with the 250 grain shockwaves and 110 grains of loose Pyrodex RS the accuracy is hard to believe sometimes out of a muzzleloader.

I am now playing with some 460 grain No Excuse Conicals shooting them with 80 grains of Goex FFFg and the accuracy is excellent. This Black Diamond is a good shooting rifle.
