i am getting tired of smacking myself in the chin or worrying if the release will hold.
I had much the same problem with my Tru-Ball caliper release. I switched to a Fletch-Hunter Shorty and have had absolutely no problems. I totally forgot about getting whacked in the mouth. I use a string loop and have done so for a long time now.
