Chad, how did you make out at the shop last night? I believe the "buddy" you are referring to was me. Yes, I always liked the Gold Tips. But, the Lock-nocks they used in years passed sucked for lack of better words. They are now using a press fit nock very similar in design and size to the Easton super nocks. They much, much better and I actually think the string fit is a little better than eastons. At least on my bow.
As everyone has already mentioned, a stiffer spine would be in order for you. I think its better to be a little on the stiff side, especially for broadheads. And, you are shooting a single cam, which also tends to like a stiffer spined shaft.
If you're going with the Gold Tips, get the 7595's and forget about it. You'll be just fine.
