I think it's all a matter of perspective. I have shot deer off of the ground and I certainly won't rule that out as an option but I greatly prefer to be in a tree. The main reasons being that I can see much better from a tree in most situations. I can get by with more movement and stand a better chance of drawing undetected in a tree and hopefully my scent will be blowing over the majority of the deer that come in down wind of me. So for me the greater thrill is killing one from a tree but I'll take em either way. Good luck and congrats on the spot.
