I hunt with a man who has a Browning a-bolt 7mag (I think it's a silver gold medallion, a very fine looking firearm). His has the boss on it, and it is loud as heck. BUT, it will group 3 shots into a half inch at 100 yds with handloads of 150gr nosler partitions. The boss on his can be adjusted in minute increments.
