i was at the range early this week and had the same thing happen to me. took my new rem sp-10 with 5 different boxes of shells including federal #4 & #5, remington #4, and winchester #5 to the range to test pattern. at 40 yards the best i could get was 3 to 6 vital hits (skull and spine), not what i expected from a 10 ga. the gun only came with a full lead choke so i hope once i install an aftermarket turket tube it does better. ive narrowed my choices down to kicks or rhino. then is shot my mossberg 835 with scope to double check that the scope wasnt bumped last year and that shoots better than the 10 ga. with federal #5, 3 1/2" i had about 12-15 in the skull/spine. im using a h.s. undertaker choke tube. might want to try another brand turkey tube to more concentrate those hits to the skull/spine area.
