Default Scouting turkeys

Scouting The Wild Turkey :

The In's and Out's could take a day to talk about when it comes to the Wild Turkey. Too start right Study the bird the best you can,Video's , Books, Mag's knowing his ways on his terms is the best start. The next thing is learning to scout and understanding the things you need to know. Most hunters do not scout right , they will walk a woods Blowing a Turkey call listen for anwsers and look for tracks , that somes it up ! they have the place scouted! WRONG ! Scouting is a form of Studing aswell. Starting with the food supply and working your way to dusting sights , Strut Zones, Roosting areas. Then sudy the Terrain , Ridge Lines , Fields , Nesting areas, Places where turkeys like to spend time. Travel and exscape routes looking for the scat. The boundry lines of the area hunted and what kind of habitat is there to hold birds. Then work on the HangUp's Fences , creeks, places in the terrain that Hang up the birds when coming to your calls. This way you understand what is going on in your mind at the time of working a bird, also helps up against the hunter that has not did the home work. Leave your calls at home you'll only make it harder to call the birds to your gun when the season starts. Anything to add ?...BT

I like them with Long Sharp Spurs....
