The Patriot is more of a "Jack-of-All-Traits" with a nice round of dimensions and features. It's not the fastest, most forgiving, most compact, nicest drawing, or the "most" at anything. It's strength is that it can be used to fling an arrow reasonably fast, with reasonable forgiveness, comfortably, and is short enough to be used in a tree stand hunting situation.
The Mighty Mite is more of a specialized hunting bow that offers good speed for its size and enough compactness to be very maneuverable in the woods.
I was in the same situation as you a few months ago before I chose the Pat. I wanted to shoot 3-D and hunt, and the Patriot fulfills both of these roles nicely. It really depends what you plan to do with the bow before a clear recommendation can be made.
BTW......welcome to the boards!
Thanks Rack Buck; I wish to do both types of shooting also & at least the Pat is in stock at the shop which is 150 miles, to far for many trips.
