RE: Can't beleive I'm sayin this, but give me some input.
Muzzy--there's no harm in trying different combinations.
I know the saying is--don't change what works, change what doesn't--but sometimes changes are good!!!
Like Matt, Jeff and PA I've had good fortunes with the Rocket Steelheads--It's hard to for some people to look at the broadhead and think it's really harmful, but let me assure you if placed in the right spot will do the job effectively.
I've had great success using this broadhead on 'Moose'--(yes moose), the moose I shot last year was shot at 42 yards from my stand, using a Champion Mustang set at 55 # draw weight, with 367 grains GT 3555, leaving the bow @ 242 fps--that moose ran 38 yards and dropped a total distance of 80 yards from my stand.
Speed, kenitic, penetration are all areas to look at, but shot placement is 'most crucial' and most times will do the job and get you the result!!!
But you need to see what works for "you", but I'll say there's no harm in trying different things--that's how we improve our knowledge--go for it, but do this before your season begins and make sure you're confident and comfortable with what ever the set-up you decide on.
Best of luck!!!
