Quilly, you may consider the hornady interlock or possible the interlock BTSP, however at close range a boattail in a lighter/faster offering may over expand and cause less penetration. I assume this for deer!
I have had great results with Hornady offerings over the years, ie; last fall I took a 5x5 Whitetail and Calf Moose out of 7 rem mag with 150 gr Interlock SP. The Buck was 175 yards in a hard quartering away and folded on the spot, the calf moose I took around 75-100 yards through the H/L and dropped instantly. Both yielded clean thru's with good expansion but not over expansion.
I think out of a 30 cal at shots under 100 the 150 gr interlock SP for deer should fare nicely.
