If you like Savages that is fine and I understand they shoot well. I had the unfortunate privilege of owning a 110 in 300 win mag a few years back when they were made the one with the detachable magazine. What a POS. This was the lineup that made them almost go bankrupt until present management took over . Is it the best shooting gun out there seriously doubt it. For that look at Browning Abolts,Remingtons and Rugers and others.
And I had a Remington 700 BDLSSDM in 30.06 a few years ago. And I'll never own another Remington ever after that experience. It was junk and wouldn't shoot no matter what I did, or what ammo I tried. I even took it to a 'smith (not the guy I mentioned above) and had over 300.00 worth of accurizing work done on it. Still, the best group it ever managed was 1.5" at 100 yards. It was sold within a few days at a gun show.
I'll take Browning, Ruger, Tikka, Savage, Howa, Winchester, any day over a Remington. All you're paying for is the name, and they better get their quality back up before they wind up going under. It seems like they are doing nothing but cutting corners and their quality is really down. My case in point, the 710. They aren't even smart enough to stop production and admit they were wrong for that one.
So you see, we all have our opinions, but to call someone an idiot because they don't believe what you believe, especially since you don't know them, well, it's idiotic.
