Buck or Doe?
Ive sat at this computer every night for the last two weeks reading all the posts about antler restrictions, deer management, low deer populations, to many deer, not enough deer, and after about four or five replies from someone, we all start arguing, we as sportsmen have to stick together, we are all in the woods every chance we get, scouting, hunting whatever the case may be. we are the ones that know what the deer populations are like in our woods not some guy in a suit, who probly doesn't hunt anyway, so the question I have for everyone is what can we do as hunters about all thoes things. we all get doe permits but do we use them? if the buck to doe ratio in your area is five does to one buck are you going to take more does, or do you want that 8 pointer or a 6 or a 4 whatever size he might be, or are you willing to do the (not so manly thing) and trim down the doe population? I my self would just soon take a doe than not put any meat in the frezer, I hunt in the souther tier, Stueben,Schyular and chemung county's, and as you may know new york fish and game rate two of the three the best deer hunting county's in New York state.we have a good number of deer around a good buck to doe ratio. sorry I am rambaling, anyway what would you reather harvest bucks or does? please be honest.. this is not a debate, nor is it ment to start problems I just want to know, Thanks
