RE: how much is too much on brace height
The string might have not stretched in enough, so the limbs havnt relaxed and the string hasnt settled, therefore your limbs are probably a little closer together causing your brace hieght to be longer. Just a guess though. If not, then somethin sounds wrong, but thats not THAT big of a difference. But like i said, thats just my guess.
