ORIGINAL: pearson1662 I stumbled across this web site while doing a search for 180 gr 270 Win bullets. I was considering them for hunting hogs. My next choice would be the 160 gr Nosler Partition. Any comments on boar hunting with the 270 woul be appreciated.
The 180's 'll work great on hogs if your barrel twist is fast enough to keep them travelling on their original path when they hit the piggy. If they tumble and dive off-course, their performance will leave a lot to be desired. I'd use the Nosler Partition 160's if your twist is not faster than 1/10"! They will penetrate at least as well as or better than the standard jacketed 180 (which I assume is the Barnes Original), and stay on course as well!\ after hitting game.
