I've had a 300 win for a while, and the animals I've killed haven't known what it was shot with. No amount of velocity or bullet weight is gonna compensate for poor shot placement. Make sure that you can shoot well whatever rifle you choose. that being said, I favor the 300 win, cuz it has been around long enough and is popular enough for you to get ammo and supplies for it, pretty much wherever you go. you can get a wide variety of bullet weights in factory ammo, and a wide variety of rifles as well.
