I've never used a trap door but years ago i used a Barner ST which worked the same way and it also failed at a bad time and i gave it up. I started to give the trap door a try several years ago but saw some bad reviews on it so i changed my mind. I took a hard look at the drop zone and it's a great fall away but just a little to bulky for me so i went with the Trophy Taker and absolutely love it and have no regrets. Rest assured you bought a quality rest. The Trophy Taker is a very good product imo. I have one on both my bows and have never had a problem what so ever with either. Good luck.
