RE: PERSONAL ETHICS
Maybe we are getting back to the "sel-promotion" thing again. How many of us would of taken that shot that day? I am not for sure if I would have or not. Even though I have passed up shots on numerous occasions, I haven't had a buck of that magnitude step out in front of me either. But, I do know this, I would not portray myself as some "great" hunter as Zaft has. I'm sure there would be several articles written about this if I were to have (or have not) harvested this buck, and I see nothing wrong with someone making money off of a trophy. Several hunters have done this, but with the exception of one or two, have done it in a relatively dignified manner. I don't even consider the Rompola buck for anything but a hoax, but with the Zaft buck, I may or may not doubt that he shot it, but I don't agree with the "promoted" point of which he is trying to make about himself. I think someone who does this feat may want to try to be absolutely possitive about the whole scenario before one would go talking about acts of greatness. Maybe this is a good learning lesson for all of us as to what to do or not to do, if (I hope) this happens to one of us. I think alot more highly of the people on this post and hope for the same in return.
And my opinion on the race comment;
One of my best friends is black. As he states, he is not an African-American, he is an American. He was born in the same town as I was. He hates it when any nationality is attached to someone just to be "politicaly correct". I look at him as a friend as he looks at me the same way, and not thru colored lenses.
