On a Slate ,, start your clucks from the center area of the call , and work up to the out side edge, this will give you the Low pitch into the higher excited cackling you hear. I would not worry about the sound as of a hat , if you really want to do it , do it after you have made the call. Not all turkeys cackle when they come down ...BT
