Hey there brucelit...........I haven't personally hunted that far south, but its not too far from the Black Belt region of Alabama. The hunting is good here in central Bama. The Black Belt region is known for some trophy bucks, but probably not as well as some of the very lucky yankee states. I believe you'll find the game laws in Alabama to be pretty liberal and definately liberal bag limits. Overall, the state boasts one of the best deer herds in the nation as far as numbers. Have you visited down here yet? If not, you're sure to fall in love with the country. I did and moved here after getting out of the Marine Corps. I hope this helps a little.
