RE: Becoming a gunsmith?
Someone who works on guns is different than being a gunsmith. I do trigger jobs, minor repairs, make small parts, etc., but I'm miles away from being a gunsmith. In my opinion, video "How to be a gunsmith" classes and access to a lathe don't make someone a gunsmith. There are several nationally recognized school in the country. Proper initial training, working under an accomplished gunsmith, and years of experience will make you a "gunsmith". I'd check with some of more respected gunsmiths and see what schools they recommend.
