I have been hunting here in PA since '95, and my wife has never gotten use to it. Even though she eats and cooks the meat and loves the back straps. These last few years I have been hunting more and more and she just hates it. So how do you get beyond this, you do but she doesn't. You do what you have to do, talk to your wife about it, and go from there. You need time for scouting, range time, putting up stands, more scouting, and than using the stands. I hunt in Archery, muzzleloader, and rifle seasons in PA and from October to January, my wife makes me feel guilty every tme I hit the woods. Now I'm use to it and eventually I hope she will. This is my favorite hobby and I will not give it up. I gave up softball when we had kids, gave up my friends when we were married, and my family in favor of my wife's family, but hunting especially deer is where I draw the line. Every weekend I work on the yard and house and if I do 20 things but did not do that 21st thing, she is not happy. I always remind her that I could be more like my neighbor and spend the weekend in the shed, drinking beer, and watching football.

Absense makes the heart grow founder.
