As both a breeder and foster home for Brittanies, I have mixed feelings about this post. On the one hand, I feel that everyone who has room in their heart and home for a rescue dog should be given the chance to help. On the other hand, a lot of these dogs are coming from neglectful or abusive homes and need special care that not everyone can provide. I would happily deny ownership of both my fosters and bred dogs to anyone who ever so casually lists himself as having lost 5+ dogs to vehicle accidents. I grew up on a ranch with cow dogs and gsp's, and we never saw that rate of mortality!
