RE: registered yet ???
I haven't registered yet, not because I'm fighting the system but just because I'm lazy.
To the majority of non-gun owning Canadians gun registration is a no-brainer. We register boats, dogs, automobiles and children for that matter. Gun registration is an easy vote getter and will not go away. Those who defy the law will just confirm what many people already think - that we are semi-hysterical rednecks. We have a major public image problem and the only way I see to correct it is to obey the law (even if it is a waste of money) and show people that we are responsible citizens who care about public safety as much as the next guy. If we take the lead in this issue we may come out looking like the good guys.
Expending our efforts on entrenching hunting and fishing rights in the constitution is a much more useful activity. So is promoting responsible gun use and encouraging others to take up shooting sports. Fighting gun registration is a losing battle in my opinion.
