Rubbing alcohol (70%) has petroleum in it. By using denatured alcohol - it cleans the arrows better and doesn't leave the petroleum.

Therefore fletchings shouldn't fall off as easily.

Try picking some up at a local pharmacy (Eckerds - Rite Aid) in the wound care section.
