I am not as enthusiastic as the other two gents.

I think the Patriot is very well made and its heavier overall weight might make it more stable. But, I think it is a bit short for what I generally recommend to most beginning shooters. I would probably suggest the Pro 40 wheelie or Freedom cam provided price is not an issue and the person knows they are going to stick with it. Now there is a ultra forgiving, well made bow!
