Default RE: spring turkey help???

When the turkies aren't gobbling. Get em to shock gobble. If I am not hearing any turkies gobbling I will start cutting and cackling with a gobble at the end. Alot of times this will give you the response that you need to move in and set up. If they are not coming in. Get to where you think you may have busted the edge of his leck and try some sweet talking. Try to find out where they are roosting and go in when it is dark. I have had great success with this. When it starts getting light I will start with some soft tree talk. When I feel that it is flydown time I will do some wing flapping and hit him with a fly down cackle. I located a tom one evening and took my dad in the nexy morning. I was able to talk the old boy out of the tree and right at us. If my dad didn't duck at the last min. the turkey would have flown directly into him. What a deal. Good luck on your hunt.
