What state are you hunting in? Here in Wisconsin where I do most of my hunting I like the fourth season. The hens are heading off to nest earlier and the toms now find themselves without a girlfriend. If you have no luck early in the morning I would sneak into an area where you have seen toms strutting later in the day. Set out a single hen decoy settle in and call every twenty minutes or so. Stay alert and listen for spitting and drumming, as sometimes they come in silent. One thing for certain this late in the season especially later in the day is if you get a gobble be ready he is probably comming in. Good luck and have fun.
