I can't swear to it, but my impression is that it wont hold up to a multi day down pour.
None of the "oiled cloth" products that I have tested were able to hole up. For horse back riding, it may be fine, but most of the packers I know, use Hally Hanson commercial fishing grade gear instead of oiled cloth.
Products like Filsons and Outback are a kind of romantic holdover from the old west days.
