I am not sure, but I think they just use a stock Lyman frizzen which has been ground to fit a T/C lock.
My Hawken is old, approximately 1976, and had the color case hardened frizzen from new. After a couple of hundred shots, the case hardening wore off, and it was soft (easily cut with a file) underneath.
T/C's customer service has always been excellent. We played musical frizzens for years. Actually, I still have the last one that they sent me in my shooting box.
I have heard that T/C has made some changes in their lock, but in all honesty, I have never had a major problem with mine, other than the frizzen.
These days, I usually hunt with my Lyman Deerstalker, but I still enjoy shooting the old Hawken.
