this is where people dont know what they are talking about, yes the objective helps alot you will gather more light with a 56mm than a 40 mm, we all know that but a huge factor is the size of the tube and the kind of glass, these two are huge factors in price of a scope, tube is also huge in light gathering, hope this helps
