In some cases spending more buys nothing but a fancier gun.For instance the weatherby vanguard and mark V both have the same 1-1/2" accuracy guarantee while the vanguard is less than half the price of the markV.The tikkas also cost less than half the price of markV but they have to shoot a 1" group before being sold.Rifles such as those sold by H-S precision and others come with a 1/2" guarantee but cost even more than most markVs.Then again rifles sold by savage come with no accuracy guarantee and are low priced and they have an excellent reputation for being accurate.Buying a factory rifle can be a crap shoot as you can buy two identical rifles in the same chambering and while one may shoot 1/2" groups the other may do no better than 1-1/2" groups or even worse.
