Default RE: Advice on how to find a lease in WI

Yup, I lease land now in Alma, which is in Buffalo county. I have never hunted there for more than three or four days without seeing at least one "trophy" wider than the ears. They took 5 shooters on opening weekend and saw over twenty five. I gun hunt in the Waupaca area on public land where it's alll little basket racks.

I love my Buffalo land for bow hunting, but it's not big enough for my gun group, or the right terrain for my family. We have quite a few guys that would have the big one walking up and down all those bluffs. For me sometimes hunting with family outweighs shooting a big buck. I do my serious hunting with the bow. Trempeauleau borders Buffalo and land can be found there at a decent price. Buffalo has such a reputation that now it's pretty expensive to lease there. Not to mention my family group is there more for the "Boy's getting away from home and playing cards" than they are about slaying a monster buck.

The $100.00 fine for anything under 16" wouldn't work to well with them. In fact I was fined $100.00 for this one this year. (15 1/4")I could only see the left side, which seemed pretty thick with long tines, but the right side sucked.

I will probably post some hads in the local papers and knock on some doors.
